About
Full of virtuosic displays, romantic rapture, and classically beautiful compositions – this will be the program of the Sinfonietta Cracovia concert with the world-renowned violinist Alena Baeva. The concert will feature works from various epochs and styles (from Bach to Elgar), with the emotional expression of the violin and the brilliance of the string orchestra playing a leading role.
Described as a “magnetic” and “constantly fascinating master of sound” (New York Classical Review), violinist Alena Baeva is considered one of the most exciting, versatile, and captivating soloists performing today on the world stage, collaborating with leading conductors such as Gustavo Gimeno, Paavo Järvi, Marek Janowski, Vladimir Jurowski, Tomáš Netopil, and Riccardo Minasi.
Baeva is a champion of lesser-known works alongside more mainstream violin repertoire, and her recent performances promote composers such as Bacewicz, Karaev, Karłowicz, and Silvestrov. This has been highlighted in performances with ensembles including the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, NHK Symphony Orchestra, Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Die Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, Gürzenich-Orchester Köln, and Göteborgs Symfoniker. She has long collaborated with the Orchestra of the 18th Century, performing and recording a diverse repertoire on period instruments.
