About
Sinfonietta Cracovia conducted by the charismatic Estonian conductor Anu Tali invites the audience to attend the concert dedicated to the music of the North—stark and mysterious like Nordic landscapes, but at the same time pulsing with intense emotion.
The programme will feature four pieces by Estonian composers: Erkki-Sven Tüür, master of dynamic contrasts, and the film motif conceived by Tõnu Kõrvits, one of the most important contemporary Estonian composers whose music combines the Nordic melancholy with lyricism and suggestive narratives. We will also hear the Polish premiere of a brand new piece, Alisson Kruusmaa’s Five Arabesques, and the evening will conclude with Tabula Rasa, the hypnotizing tour de force of the true master of minimalism and spiritual asceticism in music—Arvo Pärt who will celebrate his 90th birthday this year. Solo parts will be performed by guest violinists: Maria Sławek and Paweł Zalejski.
