About
The Berlin Piano Trio was founded in 2004, and since then, after numerous international competition successes, it has gained international renown. With its charismatic style and warm sound, the trio captivates both audiences and the press.
In 2007, the Berlin Piano Trio won the 1st prize and the interdisciplinary Grand Prix at the International Contemporary Chamber Music Competition in Krakow, initiated by Krzysztof Penderecki. The same year, the Trio received the 1st prize and the audience award at the European Chamber Music Competition in Karlsruhe. In 2009, the ensemble was awarded the prestigious "Prix Marguerite Dütschler" at the "Sommets musicaux" competition in Gstaad, Switzerland. In 2010, the Berlin Piano Trio took the 3rd place at the International Joseph Haydn Chamber Music Competition in Vienna and won the audience prize ponsored by the Esterhazy Foundation.
The Berlin Piano Trio studied chamber music under Professor Markus Becker at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien in Hannover. In 2007, the trio became a permanent member of the renowned European Chamber Music Academy, training under distinguished chamber musicians such as Hatto Beyerle (Alban Berg Quartet), Shmuel Ashkenasi (Vermeer Quartet), Peter Cropper (Lindsay Quartet), Eckart Heiligers (Trio Jean Paul), Avedis Kouyoumdjian, Anner Bylsma, and Ferenc Rados. Apart from their chamber music activities, the members of the Berlin Piano Trio are academic lecturers regularly invited to conduct masterclasses.
