About
In the world of art, we often observe dynamic master-student relationships that are not only educational but also cultural in nature. In the case of music and the work of instrumentalists, these relationships are based on the transmission of knowledge regarding playing technique, the interpretation of selected works, and, most importantly, the cultivation of young artists’ musical sensibility.
The concert from the series Stars with Sinfonietta – Błaszczyk, Niedziółka, which will take place at the Polish Aviation Museum in Kraków, is an excellent opportunity to experience precisely this kind of intergenerational dialogue and exchange of ideas. That evening, Sinfonietta Cracovia will be led by the esteemed violinist, conductor, and educator Łukasz Błaszczyk, and the soloist will be one of the most intriguing representatives of the young generation of Polish violinists, Wojciech Niedziółka, a student of Maestro Błaszczyk at the Grażyna and Kiejstut Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź.
The concert program will feature works by composers from various eras: W.A. Mozart’s Adagio and Fugue in C minor, K. 546, originally written for two pianos; J. Sibelius’s nostalgic Impromptu, Op. 5, as well as Andrzej Panufnik’s Concerto for Violin and Orchestra and Grażyna Bacewicz’s Divertimento for String Orchestra—works that have become permanent fixtures in our repertoire. The program will be rounded out by W. Lemański’s dynamic composition Fab Four, full of virtuosity and brilliant sonic effects.
