About
If wind and water could write music, it would sound like Britten’s.
Yehudi Menuhin
The inauguration of the Sinfonietta Cracovia artistic season will be filled entirely with sounds conceived by a single composer: Benjamin Britten. This monographic programme features works for an a capella choir, a brilliant piece performed by strings, as well as a composition brimming with the fullness of the combined instrumental and vocal sound created by the British composer. One composer, yet a full range of musical emotions!
Two leading Polish ensembles will join forces for this presentation: the Orchestra of the Capital Royal City of Krakow Sinfonietta Cracovia conducted by its artistic director and first conductor Katarzyna Tomala-Jedynak, and the Polish Radio Choir conducted by Maria Piotrowska-Bogalecka and assisted by women’s and boys’ choirs. Brilliant soloists Karol Kozłowski (tenor) and Michał Rot (piano) complete the lineup.
