About

The finale of the2023/2024 season promises to be a very special event. A programme in the spiritof opera painted with unique colours, not only of the paintings surrounding theSeimiradzki Room in the Sukiennice, but of colourful opera works. The mostexquisite 18th and 19th century arias will be interlaced with instrumentalpieces from famous works by Mozart, Beethoven or Verdi. The Sinfonietta stringsound will be brightened up by the sound of harp, and the solo singerperforming during this opera evening will be Marcelina Román. In this specialconcert the orchestra will be led by Katarzyna Tomala-Jedynak, the firstconductor of Sinfonietta Cracovia, who for a long time has been working withthe Poznań opera scene.

Marcelina Román is aPolish soprano performing all over the world, and awarded with multipleaccolades at international competitions, including the Jan Kiepura award forthe Debut of the Year (for the role in Verdi’s La Traviata) or the titleof the “Opera Discovery of the Year” and International Giuseppe di Stefanoaward for her title role of Armida in Lully’s opera. Her comprehensiverepertoire (from baroque to classical soprano arias, to the 20th century music)brought her fame and performances in leading concert halls, including theAmsterdam Concertgebouw and Berlin Philharmonic.
