Herrmann | Mykietyn

The concert Herrmann | Mykietyn is the continuation of the formula initiated last autumn with the Mozart | Doyle event accompanied by the tagline “film music with Sinfonietta Cracovia.” A huge interest expressed for this combination of musical worlds prompted us to repeat a similar fusion. This spring, the hall of the Krakow Filharmonic will be filled with the music of Bernard Herrmann – an artist who revolutionised the sound of classic Hollywood, and Alfred Hitchcock’s regular collaborator – and of Paweł Mykietyn, the leading author of new Polish music, as well as musical scores for theatre and cinema. Among the most recent successes of the latter is the highly acclaimed soundtrack for the film “IO” directed by Jerzy Skolimowski (European Film Award for the best soundtrack, Oscar nomination for the best international feature).
